Trust Center
Everything about how trust is established, displayed and enforced on OSRS Trading Post.
How verification works
Signing in with Discord links your permanent Discord ID to your marketplace profile. A background sync checks that you are still in the OSRS Trading Post server and maps selected Discord roles to website ranks. Roles are never taken from the browser — they are verified server-side.
How vouches work
Verified vouches can only be left by the two parties of a completed transaction and always reference the transaction ID. Self-vouching and duplicate vouches on the same transaction are blocked. Older community vouches are shown separately and clearly marked.
How middlemen work
Either party can request a staff middleman from a listing. Once staff claim the request, a private transaction room is created with the buyer, seller, middleman and authorised staff. Each stage is marked manually and written to an audit log.
Identifying impersonators
Discord usernames can change; Discord IDs cannot. Every profile shows the permanent Discord ID with a copy button. Always compare the ID before you trade, and remember that staff never open unsolicited DMs asking you to send first.
Common scams
Fake middlemen in DMs, altered screenshots, chargeback-prone payment methods, 'trusted friend' vouch farming, and pressure to move off-platform. If a trade feels rushed, stop and request a staff middleman.
How to report
Every listing, profile, message and transaction has a report action. Reports open a staff case with the evidence attached; disputes on an active transaction can freeze that transaction while staff review.
Discord usernames can change. Verify the permanent Discord ID before trading, and never trade through unsolicited Discord DMs.
