OSRS Trading Post Rules
Welcome to OTP. These rules keep our marketplace safe, our trades clean and our community worth being part of. They apply everywhere — the website, the Discord, DMs and every trade you make under the OTP name.
Community conduct
How every member is expected to behave inside OTP.
Be cool
Treat everyone with kindness, respect and positivity.
Keep it appropriate
Your username, avatar and profile must stay clean and appropriate.
No spam
Don't flood channels, chats or the marketplace with repetitive content.
No hate speech
Harmful, discriminatory or harassing behaviour is never tolerated.
No impersonation
Never pretend to be another member, sponsor or staff member.
No personal info
Do not share personal information — yours or anyone else's.
No self-promotion
Only approved sponsors and partners may advertise their services.
One account per person
Alt accounts are not allowed anywhere in OTP.
Trading & marketplace
Standards for every listing, bid and trade on the Trading Post.
No scamming — ever
Scamming in any form results in an immediate permanent ban and a ScamWatch entry.
Gold & accounts only
The marketplace is for buying and selling gold and accounts. Anything else is removed.
No cracked accounts
Selling cracked, stolen or recovered accounts is strictly prohibited.
Suspicious behaviour
Anything that looks like a scam setup can lead to immediate removal without warning.
Trade at your own risk
We strongly recommend using the OTP middleman service for every trade.
Selling an account? Include the full details
- Stats, bank value and untradeables
- Registration status (unregistered / registered)
- Marks and ban history
- Original owner status, and whether the login email can be created
Gold seller requirements
Requirements for holding and keeping the Gold Seller role.
Minimum deposit
All Gold Sellers must maintain at least a 1B deposit to stay eligible for the role.
Sales limit
Keep every sale at or below your deposited limit.
Mandatory tickets
Every transaction — seller or customer — must go through our ticket system for record keeping.
Tickets only
We only deal in tickets. Property lost in DMs leaves us with no records to support a claim.
Middleman service
Using an official OTP middleman dramatically reduces your risk — here's how it works.
- Establishment fee of 10M, plus a minimum of $5 or 5% of the trade value.
- Staff never see the details you exchange — that is handled outside the ticket.
- Multiple currencies are supported. PayPal is not supported.
- Only Admins and Moderators may middleman for members.
- Trades running past 1 hour carry an additional $5 fee.
- Donors and members who use the MM service get access to dedicated giveaways.

Use common sense
Follow the spirit of these rules, not just the letter. Staff decisions are final.
Breaking rules
Violations lead to warnings, jails, listing removals or permanent bans.
